The Lew’s Speed Spool is a 2nd generation baitcast reel with a 6.8:1 gear ratio and right-hand retrieve. It features 9+1 reel bearings, a one-piece aluminum frame, and graphite sideplates for durability. The reel delivers 28 inches of line recovery per turn and holds up to 120 yards of 12-pound mono or 50-pound braid.
The Speed Spool uses solid brass Speed Gears paired with a Rulon drag system for smooth operation. Line control comes from an externally adjustable magnetic system and a Zirconia line guide. A Zero Reverse one-way clutch bearing eliminates back-play, while the 95mm bowed anodized aluminum handle with paddle knobs provides comfortable cranking. The reel includes Speed Lube and an external lube port for maintenance, keeping the drag and gears running smoothly during use.
