The M48 Kommando Survival Shovel features a 6 7/8″ x 5 1/2″ shovel head forged from black oxide coated tempered 2Cr13 stainless tool steel. The point is sharpened on both sides—one edge is partially serrated while the other has a concave chopping edge—making it useful for both digging and light chopping tasks. Multiple lashing holes allow for secure attachment and rigging. The handle is black injection-molded nylon reinforced with 30% fiberglass and nylon for durability, and it comes with a black reinforced nylon belt sheath. Overall length is 16 1/4″.
